molto bene

fresh egg noodles from Lucca

It's no coincidence that the number of times we've cooked Italian food has increased since BF moved into his new apartment. Lucca, a local Italian store, is right around the corner and we've been stopping by there at least once a week. This time around we tried their meatballs and fresh egg pasta. Delizioso! It's the closest you can get to a perfect homemade Italian meal without having to actually prepare it from scratch. Okay, I know that's cheating but it's much better than prepackaged items from the supermarket. Not that that's bad, either.

On another note, I just saw these pictures of me taken by Sophia a while ago before lunch. If only I had enough time and money to devote to getting into medium format photography. Sophia took these without a light meter and they still came out amazingly well. I want to see more!

the final product looks delizioso indeed! i can almost smell it. there's a place called formaggio's near where i live that sells every ingredient imaginable for italian dishes, delish polenta, biodynamic wine, on and on. i really should be taking advantage of it more since your creations always make me salivate.

ps. thanks for the biscuit recipe link! i'll definitely give it a try and post pictures for your scrutiny. the gastronomy blog reminded me of the time my bf and i wanted to start a blog called "gastropomo" - a post-modern take on gastronomy! those were the days...

After I read your stepping-in-dog-crap post, I walked outside with MY favorite oxfords & stepped in cat poop. Thanks, Annabel. :'(

Wow, looks authentic. Maybe you and your bf could whip up a pasta meal from scratch, make your own pasta? It would be fun.
